Art Exhibition: Samuel Eisen-Meyers and Tyna Onkto
Pablo Piccasso once said that, “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” Well if everyday life is leaving your soul in need of a dusting, then you’re in luck. June 6th – 9th, Western Washington University senior art students Samuel Eisen-Meyers and Tyna Onkto present an opening reception and exhibit entitled, A Retrospective in Transit, in Fairhaven Gallery (formally FOG gallery). The collaborative exhibit will include an accumulation of paintings, drawings, lithographs, sculptures, and installations from the two artists.
If you haven’t seen any of the astoundingly unique artwork these two talented artists produce, you need to. Tyna Onkto is a printmaker and Samuel Eisen-Meyers a painter, but both are talented mix media artists; the gallery exhibition will showcase a wide array of their art and process. With both artists graduating from WWU this Spring (2013), the Fairhaven Gallery exhibit is the perfect chance to check out these gifted artists while they are still local.
The exhibition will feature an opening reception party that will take place Friday, June 7th, from 8pm to 11pm, at Fairhaven Gallery, which is located at 960 Harris Avenue, Fairhaven, Bellingham. The event will feature a full display of their work, food, refreshments and live entertainment. Basically, a good time!
