Harvest Fest: Aug. 20-22 in Bow

The third annual NW Harvest Fest took place in Bow and the location was about as good as it gets, with natural features including a pond stocked with fish, lush vegetation, and tons of great spots to camp. Not to mention the custom built stage (with a hot tub), state of the art sound and light setup, and a laser show to end all laser shows.

With speakers, comics, and great music acts from noon till the wee hours, there is no shortage of entertainment. This years Friday headliner “YukMouth” from the famed 90s hip hop group “The Luniz” performed his hit song “I got 5 on it,” to a stoked crowd who definitely knew the words to this cannabis culture anthem. “Lee Majors” and “2Piece” also joined Yuk on stage and played some of his new content, as well as a tribute track to fallen hip hop comrade “Mac Dre”.

I am a hip hop fan, and was most excited about seeing Yuk, but I also pride myself in liking anything that doesn’t suck. And I must say, every act had great musical talent, and entertained the eclectic crowd until the main stage closed. Rise N Shine were the headliner on Saturday and had the crowd bumping with their funky energetic vibes.  From that point till early morning hours everyone who was still up basked in an amazing laser show encompassing the whole event, surrounded by ever changing designs on the trees, and a constantly moving liquid sky. I can honestly say that this event has the potential to become one of the next big festivals on the circuit. Everything is in place, and next year is sure to be bigger and better.
