EXCLUSIVE: Debut of Dog Mountain’s “Love Can Screw You Up”

We’re premiering the debut track, “Love Can Screw You Up” from Dog Mountain’s upcoming release, Diorama!

The new album from Dog Mountain pulls from their 70s rock influences (Steely Dan, Big Star) as well as 90s indie rock clichés (Dinosaur Jr. Pavement). The four-song EP, which was recorded at Fairhaven Studio and house show venues in Bellingham, is the creative brain child of Mathew Melrose and Nick Emard but also features a revolving cast of musicians.

On their latest release, Mathew and Nick wrote “from a perspective of reflecting on mortality and chronic disease,” stated Emard, adding “’Love Can Screw You Up’ in particular is about how, when you are coping with these things, love can amount to being just as debilitating.”

Diorama will be released on September 20 in digital and cassette tape formats. If you’d like to pre-order the album, go to http://dogmountain.bandcamp.com.
